Dr. Nguyen’s higher education began at the University of Nebraska where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and she went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at the esteemed Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX. During her 4 years graduated studies, she completed internships through various private practices, specialty clinics, and Veteran Affairs Hospitals. Throughout her studies, she took on many leadership roles and is an enthusiastic volunteer helping those in needs.
She excelled academically and was awarded membership to the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, National Society of Leadership and Success and graduated with Cum Laude Honors. Following graduation, she was selected for a competitive 12 months residency program at the West Haven, CT VA hospital and heavily trained in ocular disease, low vision rehabilitation and acquired brain injury while working alongside multi-disciplinary Yale University ophthalmologist surgeons. Furthermore, throughout her residency, Dr. Nguyen was invited to present case reports at multiple optometry conferences and had written and co-authored numerous published posters and papers throughout the years. Dr. Nguyen is especially interested in myopia control, corneal refractive therapy, and specialty contact lenses for ocular surface diseases.

Dr. Nguyen will be residing locally with her husband, Nick, who is a civil engineer for Connecticut Amtrak. They plan to become actively involved in the surrounding community. Dr. Nguyen and Nick spend most of their time with their two daughters, Maia (5 years old), Emmi (3 year old), and their dogs, Puddy & Miso.
